What does a parcel from China cost to land in Paris?

The EU rule is the same in every member state; what changes is VAT. France's standard rate is 20%, one point above Germany's 19%, and it's charged on duty as well as goods and shipping.

The same parcel costs €185.64 in Berlin, so the difference between EU countries is small; the number of categories matters more. Three categories add €3 duty and 60 cents of VAT on it.

Verdict: For Paris, keep categories few and goods under €150 per parcel. Above €150, ordinary duty applies and depends on the product.

Who delivers agent parcels in Paris?

Agent lines to France typically hand parcels to La Poste's Colissimo service, or to couriers such as Chronopost or DPD; some economy lines use relay points. For Parisian addresses:

• Include the digicode and floor in the address — many buildings can't be entered without them.
• Relay points can be easier than home delivery in central arrondissements; choose one near work if you're out during the day.
• Tax at the door should only arise on lines without tax included. Pay through the carrier's own site, typed in yourself.

Why French rules on cheap marketplaces matter to agent buyers

France has pushed hard against ultra-cheap online marketplaces: in November 2025 it moved to suspend SHEIN's platform, and the European Commission has investigated Temu and AliExpress under the Digital Services Act. None of that applies to shopping agents directly, but it does mean French customs pay close attention to small parcels from China. A clean, accurate declaration — plain item descriptions, true values, few categories — is the best way to avoid delays.

Sizes

French customs can seize goods that infringe registered trademarks, regardless of duty paid, and France has historically been strict about it. Unbranded goods aren't affected.

All working agents ship to France. As in Germany, the useful comparison since July 2026 is between lines that include VAT and the €3 duty and those that don't — the second kind can look cheaper and end up dearer.
