Weidian Spreadsheet: The Non-Alibaba Shop Platform Behind Most Finds

Why do most spreadsheet finds live on Weidian?

Weidian was built for small sellers. It lets anyone set up a mobile shop in minutes and share it inside WeChat and other social apps, and within nine months of launch it had signed up more than 12 million sellers, according to TechNode. That suits the kind of seller who makes spreadsheet finds: small workshops and resellers who publish photo albums, take questions over chat and don't want a Taobao storefront with its rules and fees.

It also explains why Weidian sits outside the Alibaba family. Alibaba runs Taobao, Tmall and 1688; Weidian's backer is Tencent, the company behind WeChat, and Weidian shops are designed to be passed around in WeChat conversations. On an Alibaba-focused site, it's worth being clear: the finds you see here are Weidian listings, and "Alibaba spreadsheet" is shorthand for the wider China-shopping world rather than a promise that everything comes from Alibaba's own platforms.

Verdict: If a spreadsheet find is cheap, small-batch and linked from a photo album, it's almost certainly on Weidian. Plan to buy it through an agent.

How does a Weidian link work?

A standard Weidian product link looks like weidian.com/item.html?itemID=7612345678. The number after itemID= — usually ten digits — identifies the listing, and it's all an agent needs. You'll also see shop links (weidian.com/?userid=…), which point to a seller's whole store rather than one item; agents can't buy from those directly, so open the store and copy the specific item link.

1. Copy the item link — or just the itemID number — from the spreadsheet or repbuysheet.com.
2. Paste it into your agent's search bar.
3. Choose the variant carefully; Weidian sellers often list many colours and sizes under one item.
4. If the link is wrapped in another agent's address, run it through our link converter first.

Do agents charge more for Weidian than for Taobao?

Some do. Because Weidian isn't one of the big Alibaba platforms, agents that publish platform-by-platform fees sometimes treat it as "other". Superbuy's official fee table is the clearest example: nothing on Taobao, Tmall, JD.com or 1688, but 10% of item value — minimum ¥10, maximum ¥20 — on unlisted platforms including Weidian.

Most newer agents don't split fees by platform: MuleBuy and JoyaGoo describe zero commission, OrientDig no handling fee on common platforms, and KakoBuy's per-item fee is often zero. For a Weidian-heavy spreadsheet, that difference can outweigh other factors.

Judging a Weidian seller before you buy

Weidian shows less about sellers than Taobao does, so a little homework helps. Look at how long the shop has been listing, whether the item has recent sales or buyer photos, and whether the seller's photos look like real stock rather than catalogue shots borrowed from elsewhere. Sellers who also run a Yupoo album usually link each album to its Weidian item, which is a good sign the listing is maintained.

After purchase, your agent's QC photos are the real test. Compare them with the listing photos on the details that matter — print, stitching, label, sole — and request an exchange if they don't match. Weidian sellers generally handle exchanges through the agent, so ask quickly while the item is still at the warehouse.
